The mission of the Drop-In Community Learning & Resource Center (DILC) is to support and nurture the lifetime learning of youth and their families.
We were established in 1970 as an informal meeting place for inner-city young people in search of a meaningful learning experience after school and during school vacations. The building which houses the Drop-In Learning Center is provided by the Second Congregational Church of New London, CT.
The Center is funded through a combination of local grants, the United Way, and private donations. We are governed by Board of Directors.
We fulfill our mission by providing the following programs:

•After school and Summer Enrichment Programs
•After school and summer Teen Life / Teen Career Skills programs
•Reading is Fundamental Program (RIF)

Pre-School (Ages 3-5)
The Pre-K program is essential in providing all day care for children ages 3-5 years old. We understand each child is a unique individual and are sensitive to their social, emotional, intellectual, and physical needs. We follow a theme- based curriculum that helps children prepare for kindergarten. While working on different themes, we concentrate on math concepts, letter and sound recognition, number recognition, fine motor skills, and socialization skills. We provide developmentally appropriate programs that focus on the process of learning while also helping them to enjoy many other successful experiences. We encourage not just learning, but the love of learning.
Program Hours:
Monday thru Friday: 8:00 am 5:00 pm
Before Care
We offer students a good start to their school day. Transportation to New London Public schools is provided.
